For those unfamiliar with Chautauqua, I am referring to the Chautauqua Institute, world-renowned for its extraordinary blend of the arts, education and religious programming. Located in the southwest corner of New York State, it began as a humble camp ground and training center for Methodist Sunday school teachers in the summer of 1874. It has expanded into a world-class forum for the discussion of political, social and religious issues, as well as a regional center for the arts, entertainment and recreation.
I was introduced to Chautauqua in the summer of 2003 and was instantly seduced by the charm of its late nineteenth century architecture, narrow European-style streets and wonderful gardens. I felt an overwhelming urge to capture and share the experience with as many people as I could.
I have created an extensive line of products featuring my photographic illustrations which are available year-round through the Chautauqua Bookstore and this website, and
at the Chautauqua Art Gallery Gift Shop during the summer months. My products are featured on the PhotoArts Page of this website and consist of prints, note cards, golf balls,
4" x4" stone tile coasters and 2" x 2" magnets, t-shirts and coffee mugs. The bookstore also carries an extensive line of my exclusive Chautauqua greeting cards.
